Meet our Venerable Master

Michael Atkins, Sr., 32° KCCH

Venerable Master - 2020

Michael joined the Army at the age of 18 and served 26 years.  During his military career, he was deployed to numerous combat areas of operations.  Retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2010, he joined the SOAR365’s team as the Director of Operations.  In 2012, Michael was promoted to the Director of Facility Management Services.  In 2016 he was promoted to Assistant Vice-President of Facility Management Services overseeing the majority of SOAR365’s revenue lines of business.

 

Michael Atkins is extremely active in the Chesterfield County community in which he lives.  He served as the assistant coach for several years with the Chesterfield Little League and took 11 young boys from Cub Scouts to crossing over as Boy Scouts.

 

He has been a Mason for 28 years.  Currently a member and serves as Worshipful Master of Buckingham No. 242 for 2019 and 2020, served as Worshipful Master of Midlothian Lodge No. 211 in 2016, and is a member Black Heath Lodge No. 1982.  Other affiliations include Petersburg Union Royal Arch Chapter #7, Committee Chairman for A. Douglas Smith, Jr., International Order of DeMolay, a member of the Ancient and Heroic Order of the Gordian Knot Tower Synod #8 in Kitzingen, Germany, a life member of the Grand York Rite Bodies of Mississippi Chapter #6 in Jackson.   

 

Michael joined the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Richmond, Orient of Virginia, in ______ where he was honored in 2017 by being Invested with the Rank & Decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honour.  He currently serves as the Venerable Master for the Lodge of Perfection, is a member of the Richmond Valley Scottish Rite Guard and is editor of the Richmond Double Eagle electronic newsletter.  He also is a member of ACCA Shrine Center where he is a member of the Director’s Staff and serves the Grand Lodge of Virginia as the Chairman of the Arrangements Committee.

 

Michael’s wife, the former ____________________________ also serves as an Adult Advisor for the A. Douglas Smith Chapter, International Order of DeMolay, where his son, Michael, Jr. is a member.  His son is currently attending Virginia Tech University where he is studying Aerospace Engineering.
